What Is a Service Like?

If you’re new to church or just checking Living Hope out, we want you to know a few things. First, relax. you’re with friends. If you decide to attend one of our services, you won’t be singled out or put on the spot—we promise. Our desire is to make your visit as comfortable and positive as possible and not throw you any surprises.  As an attendee you can get to know us at your own pace. There are plenty of opportunities to meet people and get involved, but we realize that everyone operates on their own timetable.  We do try and make contact with everyone who shows interest in Living Hope, and we really appreciate it if you fill out a guest card when you're ready for that contact.

We have tried to anticipate some of the questions you might have before you come to Living Hope for the first time.  You will find the answers to those questions listed below.  If you have additional questions, contact the church office at 928-6610 and we will be happy to answer them.

When should I arrive?
Don't feel guilty if you get there late.  However, on your first time you may want to plan to arrive 15 minutes early or so.  This will give you time to park, drop off the kids if you desire, stop by our Information Table and find a comfortable place to sit in our auditorium.  Greeters (those wearing name tags) are available to welcome you and help show you around as well.

What should I wear?
Be yourself!  If you are more comfortable meeting God in blue jeans or shorts, feel free to wear them.  If a suit and tie help you to worship God, then please wear that.  We are much more interested in you connecting with God and us, then we are in what you wear.

What about my kids?
We provide a safe place for your kids as well.  Nursery is available for small children, and a special worship time (Walk out Worship) during the message for kids ages 3 through 2nd grade or so.

Am I expected to give when the offering plate goes by?
No!   The offering is a form of worship for our regular attendees.  You are welcome to give, but we hope that when you visit Living Hope you will be receiving from us not the other way around.  The only thing we encourage non-members to put in the offering plate is a guest card.  Please fill out a guest card and drop it in the plate when you are ready for a call or visit.

Will I have to wear a name tag or be recognized as a guest at your service?
No way!  We want you to be relaxed and comfortable in our services and you will never be singled out.  If you do hang around after the service, you can expect that someone might ask you about yourself or what brought you to Living Hope.  We want to welcome you, not make you feel like an outsider.

Can I get some refreshments?
You are welcome to bring coffee, soft drinks and water into the service.  Coffee, juice, and cookies are available in the atrium after the service on Sunday mornings.

What about your Services?
Worship services are a time for us to come together, meet our God and learn about him.  We do this through biblically based contemporary music, media, drama and message.

What kind of message can I expect?
Each message is meant for us to better understand the Bible and our relationship to God in a way that is relevant to our everyday life.  The messages are available for you to listen to on our website, or you may request a copy on DVD or CD at the audio/visual desk in the back of the auditorium.  Listen to a message.

What happens after the service?
We spend some time in genuine fellowship immediately after the service.  At 11:00, we do provide some ministries to learn more about God.  Sunday school is available during the school year for pre-K through High School.  Adult Education is available as well in the auditorium.  We also have a prayer room set up in one of the classrooms.
